Registration Specialist

Position Summary:
The Registration Specialist is responsible for scheduling and routing of In-Home appointment logistics for all applicable programs with the GrayHawk Health team of Traveling Nurse Practitioners and Medical Assistants. They work closely with the medical onboarding team to interface with patients directly after initial appointments have been set to optimize provider schedules. They will coordinate regularly with the Practice Coordinator and other member of the care team regarding in-home follow up appointments.
The Registration Specialist will utilize routing optimization to plan patient routes for all Providers and Medical Assistants on our traveling team. They will be responsible for distributing travel plan and pertinent patient information needed to each individual and being the point of contact between the patient and the provider regarding date and time of service. They will stay in communication with the traveling team throughout the day to make any necessary changes to the schedule and provide support where needed.
The Registration Specialist will be responsible for patient reminder phone calls for in-person appointments and will manage the schedules for accuracy based on completion at the end of each work session. They will be responsible for keeping accurate records for no shows or missed appointments to ensure follow-up on rescheduling when needed.
The Registration Specialist is detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and basic understanding of patient demographic registration. They will act as an additional resource to ensure patient insurance information has been verified in the EMR at the time of service.
The Registration Specialist Performs duties in support of GrayHawk Health/RehnCare’s mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care is delivered in an economically sound and efficient manner. The age range of patient populations served: Primarily mid 50’s to elderly
Duties include but are not limited to:

Route Optimization and communication to Traveling Clinical Team
Scheduling Coordination and Communication to patient
Insurance Eligibility and Verification
Coordination and assist onboarding team with daily workflow

Accountabilities/Criteria:
· Strong Telephone/Communication Skills
· Technical skills to master logistics software
· Knowledge of scheduling within EMR
· Stays up to date on program and service changes
· Stays up to date on Insurance coverage and annual changes
· Follows health plan requirements and protocols
· Completes registration and scheduling of CRNP visits
· Maintains a positive demeanor and good customer service with patients
· Confirm all visits by calling the day before or Friday for Monday visits
Education and Training:
· Associate Degree in Health care or related field
· Experience working in healthcare related scheduling or dispatch
Experience:
· A minimum of 3 years healthcare related experience
· 1 year of Medical Office front desk and scheduling experience
Skills: Competencies in key elements of nursing care or related field

· Experienced in the documentation of clinical information in an EHR
