Medical Receptionist (Primary Care)

Job Summary· Serves as the initial contact person at a medical practice, responsible forassuring an excellent patient experience at the front desk and while in thereception area. This role is principally responsible for all front desk and intake relatedactivities. Responsibilities include greeting and screening patients forpotential emergency situations in a service oriented and professional manner,answering phones, monitoring the reception area for patient comfort andpotential emergencies, registering patients and submitting charges. Performs awide variety of clerical office functions. Answers telephones, providesinformation and schedules appointments. Greets and registers patients,completes forms, collects and enters patient demographic and billing information,prepares charts, reviews fee slips, maintains office filing system, updateselectronic medical records as appropriate and collects payments in accordancewith cash handling policies and procedures.
