Meat Team Member

Team Members are responsible for handling and possessing knowledge of Meat. Their responsibilities include: receives, processes, prepares, wraps, slices, weighs, marks and packages product; stocks shelves, cases and bins, while maintaining neat attractive conditions and properly signed displays. .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)
1. Provides quality customer service is an essential component of every position within The GIANT Company. Each position serves its own group of customers, which may consist of consumers, co-workers, vendors and business associates. As much care should be given to handling our internal “customers,” as the ultimate consumer.
2. Receives, processes, prepares, wraps, slices, weighs, marks and packages products. These activities involve the use of power equipment and lifting product, which typically weighs less than 20 lbs.
3. Maintains proper shelf, case and display conditions, to include: stocking, cleaning, straightening and rotating product, which typically weighs less than 20 lbs.
4. Maintains proper cooler conditions to include: rotating, cleaning and organizing cases of product (frequently weighing more than 20 lbs. and occasionally weighing up to 60 lbs.).
5. Maintains proper prep area conditions, to include: cleaning and sanitizing of work surfaces, utensils and equipment.
6. Adheres to all federal, state and local regulations, as they apply to the deli area.
7. Maintains safe and clean sales floor conditions, to include: sweeping and mopping.
8. Provides exceptionally friendly and courteous customer service. Must be able to answer questions, make recommendations and promote products through suggestive selling.
9. Must dress according to company policy and maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times.
Team Members may also be designated to conduct competitive price checks, direct and supervise the functions and activities of the store in the absence of the Team Lead, and other duties as assigned by management.
