Reporting into the Manager of HRIS, the HRIS Assistant I is responsible for data entry of human resource records into the College’s enterprise-wide system (Ellucian Banner) for all faculty, staff, student workers and work study employees. This position inputs new employee information into the Banner system, including updating job assignments and employee data changes, maintaining HR documentation in employment files, and supporting the HRIS team in the processing of forms and documents used to generate payroll.
Required testing for this position:

Input employee information into the Ellucian Banner system, including job assignments and employee data changes such as change of address, education and degrees, marital status, name changes, etc.
Review data entry to ensure accuracy.
Provides verbal and written information for employment verifications, including support of the General Counsel’s office in responding to subpoena requests.
Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets or Access databases for new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments and other data.
Maintain employee files ensuring documents are current.
Scan employee documents into the department’s document imaging system.
Maintain confidentiality of HR records.
Deliver quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner.
Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma, or GED required.
Six (6) years relevant work experience required.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) required.
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment required.
Demonstrated competency in organizing data required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team required.
Strong time management skills required.
Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds required.
Previous relevant work experience in a Human Resources department preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat preferred.
Prior experience working in an HR/Payroll system or enterprise-wide system such as Ellucian Banner preferred.
