E SUCEDEU que, depois da morte de Saul, voltando Davi da derrota dos amalequitas, ficou dois dias em Ziclague;
|
Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;
|
|
2.
|
Ao terceiro dia um homem veio do arraial de Saul, com as vestes rotas e com terra sobre a cabeça; e, chegando ele a Davi, se lançou no chão, e se inclinou.
|
It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.
|

E Davi lhe disse: Donde vens? E ele lhe disse: Escapei do arraial de Israel.
|
And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.
|
|
4.
|
E disse-lhe Davi: Como foi lá isso? peço-te, dize-mo. E ele lhe respondeu: O povo fugiu da batalha, e muitos do povo caíram, e morreram; assim como também Saul e Jônatas, seu filho, foram mortos.
|
And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
|

E disse Davi ao moço que lhe trazia as novas: Como sabes tu que Saul e Jônatas, seu filho, foram mortos?
|
And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?
|
|
6.
|
Então disse o moço que lhe dava a notícia: Cheguei por acaso à montanha de Gilboa, e eis que Saul estava encostado sobre a sua lança, e eis que os carros e a cavalaria apertavam-no.
|
And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
|

|
E, olhando ele para trás de si, viu-me, e chamou-me; e eu disse: Eis-me aqui.
|
And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.
|
|
8.
|
E ele me disse: Quem és tu? E eu lhe disse: Sou amalequita.
|
And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.
|
|
9.
|
Então ele me disse: Peço-te, arremessa-te sobre mim, e mata-me, porque angústias me têm cercado, pois toda a minha vida está ainda em mim.
|
He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
|
|
10.
|
Arremessei-me, pois, sobre ele, e o matei, porque bem sabia eu que não viveria depois da sua queda, e tomei a coroa que tinha na cabeça, e o bracelete que trazia no braço, e os trouxe aqui a meu senhor.
|
So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.
|

11.
|
Então apanhou Davi as suas vestes, e as rasgou; assim fizeram todos os homens que estavam com ele.
|
Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
|
|
12.
|
E prantearam, e choraram, e jejuaram até à tarde por Saul, e por Jônatas, seu filho, e pelo povo do SENHOR, e pela casa de Israel, porque tinham caído à espada.
|
And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
|

13.
|
Disse então Davi ao moço que lhe trouxera a nova: Donde és tu? E disse ele: Sou filho de um estrangeiro, amalequita.
|
And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
|
|
14.
|
E Davi lhe disse: Como não temeste tu estender a mão para matares ao ungido do SENHOR?
|
And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?
|
|
15.
|
Então chamou Davi a um dos moços, e disse: Chega, e lança-te sobre ele. E ele o feriu, e morreu.
|
And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.
|
|
16.
|
Pois Davi lhe dissera: O teu sangue seja sobre a tua cabeça, porque a tua própria boca testificou contra ti, dizendo: Eu matei o ungido do SENHOR.
|
And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.
|
|
17.
|
E lamentou Davi a Saul e a Jônatas, seu filho, com esta lamentação
|
And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
|
|
18.
|
(Dizendo ele que ensinassem aos filhos de Judá o uso do arco. Eis que está escrito no livro de Jasher):
|
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
|
|
19.
|
Ah, ornamento de Israel! Nos teus altos foi ferido, como caíram os poderosos!
|
The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!
|
|
20.
|
Não o noticieis em Gate, não o publiqueis nas ruas de Ascalom, para que não se alegrem as filhas dos filisteus, para que não saltem de contentamento as filhas dos incircuncisos.
|
Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
|
|
21.
|
Vós, montes de Gilboa, nem orvalho, nem chuva caia sobre vós, nem haja campos de ofertas alçadas, pois aí desprezivelmente foi arrojado o escudo dos poderosos, o escudo de Saul, como se não fora ungido com óleo.
|
Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
|
|
22.
|
Do sangue dos feridos, da gordura dos valentes, nunca se retirou para trás o arco de Jônatas, nem voltou vazia a espada de Saul.
|
From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.
|
|
23.
|
Saul e Jônatas, tão amados e queridos na sua vida, também na sua morte não se separaram; eram mais ligeiros do que as águias, mais fortes do que os leões.
|
Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
|
|
24.
|
Vós, filhas de Israel, chorai por Saul, que vos vestia de escarlata em delícias, que vos fazia trazer ornamentos de ouro sobre as vossas vestes.
|
Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
|
|
25.
|
Como caíram os poderosos, no meio da peleja! Jônatas nos teus altos foi morto.
|
How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.
|
|
26.
|
Angustiado estou por ti, meu irmão Jônatas; quão amabilíssimo me eras! Mais maravilhoso me era o teu amor do que o amor das mulheres.
|
I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
|
|
27.
|
Como caíram os poderosos, e pereceram as armas de guerra!
|
How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
